TML Finance and Advisory

How it started.

We were founded in 2011 for one reason - we had a real desire to help businesses in need. Finance is tricky after all, but we saw a gap in the market. We saw that people weren’t getting the financial help they required, so we formed TML to help change that.

By providing completely independent and impartial advice about asset-backed business finance, we wanted to help businesses better understand their options in the finance market. But, and here’s the big question, what experience do we have that qualifies us to give you this advice? What position could we possibly be in to help? Well, this is what we’re most proud of.

Unlike most other financial advisory companies, our team is actually born out of a business background. The situations you’re in, we’ve experienced first hand - and come out the other side. At TML, we understand the real world and how it works. With no ties to any lender and no preference for any finance product, we were able to ensure complete impartiality. We take a hands-on approach at TML, treating your business as though it were our own.

We base our approach on five different tenets - Understanding, Listening, Independent and Impartial, Informed Decision Making and Transparency. We believe that bringing these five together creates the best environment for smart financial decision-making. Staunchly independent, TML is the arm around your shoulder.

Meet the team

Neil Sharp

Managing Director

I’m the Managing Director at TML. As a results-driven entrepreneur specialising in business growth, I started my own business at 23 and grew it to a turnover of £6.5m with minimal funding in just a few years. Throughout my 25 year history in business, I’ve made a reputation for myself as a driving force of major transformations, helping businesses to achieve and sustain incredible growth through smart implementation of strategic initiatives and clever planning, among other skills.

My core competencies and skills stretch across a variety of industries, but unlike a lot of financial advisers, the majority of my skill set comes from a time in business, giving me plenty of skills with real-world applications to your business. Some of these include market knowledge, new business acquisition, strategic growth and more.

I’m proud of a number of achievements throughout my career, but my most rewarding professional experience would have to be the creation and transformation of my manufacturing company. Starting the business from scratch with £10,000, I was able to garner a turnover of £6.5m with profits worth £500,000.

Eslam Samy

Head of M&A Transactions

I am an M&A and financing advisory professional with over 15 years’ experience. I trained as a graduate and spent 10+ years at Big 4 firms (EY and PwC), and am a qualified/chartered accountant. My specialisms include advising on M&A transactions, conducting and leading due diligence and arranging project financings. I was a former member of EY’s EMEA M&A Energy Centre of Excellence, an energy-specialised team of 4 based in London.

Immediately prior to joining TML, I ran my own financial consultancy practice for over four years, in which I primarily advised on project financings and M&A transactions.

Throughout my career, I gained a good mix of domestic-UK and international experience, travelling with clients to places such as Madagascar, Ethiopia, Abu Dhabi, Morocco, Egypt, Japan and France. A career highlight of mine includes previously being sponsored by the Japanese government to live in Japan and conduct research.

Lastly, I am a native English and Arabic speaker, with competent French and Japanese.

Dominic Roberts

Debt Advisory

I’ve worked at TML since May 2017 and specialise in Asset Finance, Loans, Invoice Finance.

I started my career at Barclays Asset Finance, focusing on medium-large business transactions. After 7 years at Barclays, I moved to another Asset Finance lender which focused on broker lend deals, helping to transact Asset Finance and Business Loans to SMEs.

My most rewarding experience would have to be completing my BA Honours Degree in International Business & Management, whilst working a full-time job. Also, I support Manchester United!

Nikki Ward

Business Administrator

I have been with TML for 3 years, specialising in business loans and secured loans.

I started my career with a second mortgage bank and worked my way up to team leader of a small broker team, managing two of the then ‘largest finance brokers’ in the UK. Then worked as a mortgage broker for 6 years specialising in secured loans/mortgages.

I love being a mum to two daughters aged 17 and 13 and enjoy going to concerts and going on holidays with my family.
